The Bearables

Creating an informative poster for an imaginary concert at MOCA to promote their urban art to young adults. Meet The Bearables, the talented musician with her musically talented Bear friend.

Objective: Create a poster that advertises MOCA's fictional gig of a fictional band called The Bearables, featuring a live bear and his partner. This gig is free entry, with free drinks at MOCA, to inspire young adults ot learn about urban art.

Design: The main imagery for this is of the band The Bearables surrounding spraypaint-esque MOCA. The color scheme and style of art is inspired mostly by graffiti. For the deliverables, the advertisement must mention the name of band, date, time, location, free entry, and finally drinks provided.

Process

Brain Storm:

For this I first wrote down the requirements for this project, to remember what I needed in the deliverable. I then designed the characters that would eventually become The Bearables.

Thubmnails:

After designing the characters, I thumbnailed the composition for the poster to decide the placement of where both the characters are and the text should be.

Compositions:

I then chose two of the thumbnails that had the best compostitions and drew them in a larger format to choose the better comp. of the two.

Revisions:

I chose the second composition that included both the artist and her companion bear, as the bear is one of the most important part of this band. and after making the first draft of this poster I got critiques to make the bear and girl pop more from the background.
